Where Could I Sell My Alexandrite Ring?
I have a 14k gold ring with 15 alexandrite small round stones and several very small diamonds. The bring is aprox 8 years old but has never been worn. I was given the ring as a present but was recently advised as to how rare alexandrite is and its gem potentitals to change colour etc. I want to sell the ring but am having trouble finding anyone to buy the ring for anything other than scrap gold metal value. The ring cost £460 new and I therefore refuse to give this away for £30. Could anyone point me in the direction of a gem lover who would appreciate the alexandrite or to someone who would be interested in buying? I can provide photos if necessary.

don’t believe the previous poster. Of course Alexandrite is very precious and expensive, but it all depends on the quality as well. How strong is the color change etc. Considering the original buying price, I am sorry to say, the stones can’t be great and could even be synthetic. Do you have any documentation about the ring/gemstones?
Your best bet is a private sale, advertise in the newspaper, on etsy etc.
a yard sale,,,somewhere where looks are more important than value.. that was my first answer, til i read your question fully and saw you paid that much for it, and expect more than what’s offered..
alexandrite isn’t that precious a gem stone, mainly known as a birthstone and holds little market value as anything else.. i suggest you look for someone who’s really deep into astrology.
Take a pic. of it and post it on (craigslist) in your town or city it’s free.I sell things all the time on it with real good luck.
why do not try with a jewele? that is the place you can sell your jewelery!
or, you could do it through ebay!
A lot of people are trying to sell it on ebay.
