Is Now A Good Time To Sell Gold For Scrap Or Shall I Wait?

Is now a good time to sell gold, I’ve got 25g of 18ct and a few bits of 9.
Also I’m going to sell through the post – the company is a jewellery shop and looks legit. Can anyone suggest a good place to sell?

  My friend did a ton of research, and she finally sold hers on http://www.mycashforgold.info
  She liked the fact that they are members of the BBB and were featured in USA Today.
  There were so many online sites to choose from, but they had the best reputation.
  She made a ton of money, it is a great time to sell, gold is worth a lot of money right now.

  Compare the prices you can get for scrap gold. Jewelry stores will pay a different amount that actual metal refiners. http://www.goldintomoney.com/calculator
  Gold is down from all-time highs earlier in the year, so it might be a good bet to wait a little bit, but it really depends on how quickly you want to sell.

  Hi Molly.
  My suggestion would be – don’t sell it right now if you can. Gold remains gold despite US Dollar gets strong or weak, Euro is shaking etc. It does shake everywhere, yes. So I would definitely suggest you re-consider the matter again after the world will stabilize a bit.
  It is not because now USD/Gold is not favorable for you now. But because the best thing you can do these days is to avoid spending. Thus gold is good, you don’t need turning it into money.

  Covent garden. Weigh the items, calculate the weight of gold and find out roughly how much it is worth. You will get RIPPED off if you are not careful/astute.
  Ask yourself what difference it would make if gold was $1000 an ounce? If not much then sell, especially if you can use the money.

  I sold quite a large quantity of gold to a buyer and sent it through the post and he was completely legit and honest – he also paid the best rate compared to high street jewellers. (By the way, he was based in Havant Hampshire), hope this helps.

  Wait! In the long term you’ll make much more money. The country has made i through worse recessions than this. We made it through the Depression didn’t we? I’m certain you’ll be around to see the market go up, so I would wait.

  i think you should just sell it to a shop instead of sending it through post where it can get lost easily and they might scam you.

  Go to your local jewellers (shuld be a place in town buyin scrap, always is.)
