How Do I Sell An Antic Gold Necklace?

I have an antic gold necklace that I would like to sell, but all the everyday jewelery shops say that they will only give me scrap value for it and to take it to an antic jewelers!
Does anyone know where I will find an antic jewelers?
I would need one preferebly in the London area or Essex!

  You have to sell it to some very well to do people and they only can pay you some thing fairly. You can contact some antic items dealer or give a small advertisement in the news papers and you will get some response.

  I would try eBay……..on Ur advertisement 4 it put everything u no about the necklace that u no and sell it on eBay…eBay is a wold wide store 4 everything. You should b able 2 sell it on there.

  You might try eBay. I’ve sold some antique camera equipment on there and done quite well.

  what kind of antics is your necklace up to? Is this why you want to get rid of it? Does it come alive at night and try to strangle you?

  Don’t consider high street jewellers, they’re clueless. Some independent second-hand jewellery shops can be good, usually Jewish owned businesses (up our way anyway) and they are very knowledgeable and give a good fair price….

  I know there is one in Marlow. On the main shopping street. The shop frontage is Black and Gold, but I can’t remember the name of the shop. I’ll update this if I can remember.
