I Have Some Old Broken Jewelry And Engagement Rings?

the gold jewerlry is a mix bag of old outdated charms, outdates earrings, and broken bracletes. I have 2 or three solitare engagment rings I inherited from old family members. I would like to sell them for some cash. I have no idea how to go about it (pawnshop, sell gold now tv commercials, jewelry stores) anybody have any ideas? I live in CT. I could use alittle cash instead of these just sitting in my dresser

  if you go to a local jewellers
  they can melt the gold to make a new necklace/bracelet/ring etc
  try that
  and keep it as a family heirloom

  First, take your jewelery to a reputable jewelry store and ask for an appraisal. If the stones in the engagement rings are genuine diamonds, they may buy them from you, or they could possibly refer you to someone who would buy them. I wouldn’t pawn them. The object of pawning is that you need a “little” cash quickly, and the pawn shop holds on to the item(s) until you come back and redeem them. You never get much money from a pawn shop…ever. By having them appraised, you will know the true value and can then even advertise them yourself for the appropriate amount. As I’m sure you know, the quality and carat weight of diamonds determines their value, and therein lies a wide range. So determine their worth first.

  go get them fixed at a flea market or some were ,were they fix jewerlry and then go and sell them to a pawn shop yeah you’ll be losing money at first but then you’ll get it back when you sell them at the pawn shop. (the more the gold weighs the more money you’ll get 4 it)

  Try selling it to Rio Grande – they are on the web too! They give you more money than a pawn shop and are reputable. They will give you more money if you chose to get a store credit. Then you can buy something new.
  You’ll need to remove the old stones first and separate the items into 10K, 14K sterling silver etc….

  just go to the jewelry stores and sell them… price may varies depending on the cost of gold which is always going up and down… if u know any owner of a jewelry store and is a friend of urs.. then let him sell them … he knows when its up………. and when its………. down….
