Dreams About My Old House?
Any ideas what these dreams mean? They all involve the house I lived in with my family prior to 2004 (two trailer houses welded together with some walls cut out for connectivity). The house has since been sold and torn down.
1. I’m sitting in the living room surfing for porn on my Sega Genesis (?!) when George W. Bush kicks the front door in (for some reason the front porch is there, even though we took that down and were coming in and going out through the back door long before my grandparents gave me the Sega). Bush has an army of walking silver mannequins in black suits and sunglasses with him, and he’s trying to arrest me. I want to defend myself in true American fashion, but John Kerry is slipping out the back door with all the guns. I try to chase Kerry to get my guns back, but when I get outside I find out somebody’s turned the gravity way down and I’m having trouble controlling my leaps and bounds. Meanwhile, the silver mannequins are hopping around destroying things.
2. I’m in my old room getting ready to go to sleep. In the dream, I know I’m supposed to marry my girlfriend in the morning, so I’ve got to be well rested (which is why I went back to the old house, to get some peace and quiet). Problem is, somebody forgot to tell the demolition company I was there and they sent a jaw-bucket crane to do the job in the middle of the night.
3. I’m lying in bed. It’s late afternoon and the sun is shining brightly on the gold bedspread over the windows. Suddenly a very large vulture lands on the tin roof and starts stomping around up there, making really loud banging noises, and for some reason I’m really, really scared.
4. We’re getting ready to go to a late-night service at church, and we’re all piling into the old minivan (the one we hauled off when I was twelve because we couldn’t keep a transmission working in it). Just as I’m getting ready to get in, a tornado shows up and starts sucking.
5. There’s a tornado on the ground outside, visible in the strobing lightning. It’s late at night and I’m home alone with my baby nephew and no transportation. The house starts rolling and I’m trying to shield my nephew as best I can with my body, but everything’s flying at me instead of rolling with the house. My nephew is crying, and the louder he cries, the worse the storm gets, but I can’t quiet him.
