Does Anybody Know,who, And Where You Can Sell A Blue And Gold Macaw To A Good Home? In Alabama.?

my macaws name is bert,he is friendly,does not cuss,and is 4 years old.we are haveing to sell him because of health reasons.

  sorry, this isn’t the place; try Googling for a parrot-rescue group in Ur state.
  if U place Ur bird “for sale”, he’ll go to anyone who has the $$; a resQ group will place him only after a home-check, vet ref’s, etc., so that he will be *forever* in a good home…
  and, if/when he needs -another home-,
  ["owner dies b4 bird" is a distinct possibility... he can live 75yrs to ONE CENTURY - so he needs to be In One's Will, for post-death placement],
  the resQ group will, Again, Take Him In & Place Him.

  birds are not “easy” pets; if U think a dog is demanding, multiply it by 5 or more to get a middle-level bird. [i.e., an Amazon, vs a HIGh-level anxious bird, like a Cockatoo].
  birds need One-On-One focused attention: INTERactive give-&-take, not “share the same Room” social-company.
  bird-owners who are truly ‘into’ their birds will start the day by showering with their bird[s], or eating with them, as at some point U have to go earn the $$ for brain-toys, vet fees, hi-quality [not! 'all-seed'] diets, & so on;
  starting the day with at least 45 mins of intense one-to-one means that U can leave a happy bird, who can contentedly amuse themselves with all the [rotated] brain-puzzles & food-work that U have thoughtfully left for them…

  at 4 yrs, Ur bird is still a “baby”; he’s not a pubertal-teen till 5 or more yrs. he’s abt the equiv of a 10 to 12 yr old boy…

  I know the Petco store in Decatur has been known to adopt birds for resale, and they take really good care of them. You might be able to work out a consignment deal there or at another Petco store. My wife and I have a guinea pig, so we get our supplies from the Decatur Petco. We often visit the birds, who are kept in a temperature-controlled area in decent cages. They’ve had some macaws there in the past.
