I feel I didn’t get the most for the gold I sold to cash for gold by mail. Where the best place to sell my gold and get the most for it?

  step 1 – get the jewelry appraised for what it is worth as jewelry
  Step 2 – sell it for what it is JEWELRY
  If you only ever go by the gold content… you will always lose.
  Example: I own a pair of gold nugget earrings. They are one of a kind.
  We found the nuggets and had them made into ear rings.
  I was offered $20 for the gold content and when I asked what they would sell the ear rings for…. I was told that the retail value is around $170.
  I don’t ever intend to sell them anyway but was teaching a friend about the reality of selling your jewelry for the gold content.

  A TV news program tested those “mail us your gold” ads and found they were giving less than half of what it’s worth.
  I say, shop around local jewelers and jewelry designers.
